How to Contribute
to the KIAE
We have
a number of ways you can help us with our mission at the
KIAE. We can now accept donations with our secure online
payment system. Since we are a 501(c)(3) organization,
your donation is 100% tax deductable.
Here are the programs we are currently engaged in
at the present:
-
Aerospace Education Facility - Our plan is to
build a 120' x 100' facility at the Capital City
Airport. In an exciting partnership with the
University of Kentucky, we were able to secure a
no-cost lease at the airport. This facility will have a flight simulation
room, classrooms, operations, kitchen for aviation
events, some office space and an 80' x 100'
maintenance hanger to house our 7 aircraft projects.
Let us know if you would like to sponsor this
project.

-
Aircraft Maintenance of our 7 Aircraft - We
currently have 7 aircraft that our students maintain
or repair. There are two 70 year old Aeronca
taildraggers as well as two Zenith experimental
kits. We also have a couple of Cessna's and a 1946
Bellanca Cruiseair. Let us know if you would like to
sponsor one of these projects.
-
Flight Instruction - Each year, we will have a
handful of students learning to fly. We estimate the
cost of instructing these students each year at
approximately $2000 per student. Help sponsor a
student through our flight program and give them a
head start on an aviation career.
-
Aeronautical Engineering - We currently have 12
high schools participating in the "Wing Design
Competition". We will be adding 8-10 more schools
next year. The cost for each school to participate
in this project is approximately $1000 per school.
-
Increasing the Staff at KIAE -
At the present, all of our staff operates as
volunteers. The master plan is to add a full-time
Chief Executive Officer, Director of Maintenance
(A&P Mechanic), Flight Training and Operations
Director, and an Office Manager to support this
exciting state-wide initiative.
